What are Traditional Braces?

Traditional braces are a reliable orthodontic treatment using metal brackets and wires to gradually move teeth into proper alignment. They effectively correct issues like crowding, gaps, overbites, and underbites, improving both function and appearance. With regular adjustments, braces help restore bite balance and create a healthier, straighter smile.

The Procedure

1. Consultation & Evaluation - Our dentist will examine your teeth, take X-rays, and discuss your goals to determine if traditional braces are the right treatment for you.
2. Braces Placement - Metal brackets are bonded to your teeth and connected with a wire that applies gentle pressure to guide teeth into alignment.
3. Regular Adjustments - You’ll visit the office every few weeks for adjustments, ensuring steady progress as your teeth gradually shift into place.
4. Oral Care & Monitoring - We'll provide instructions on maintaining good oral hygiene with braces and monitor your progress to avoid delays or complications.
5. Braces Removal & Retention - Once treatment is complete, your braces are removed and a custom retainer is provided to help maintain your new smile.

FAQ

  • How long do dental implants last?
With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime, though the crown may need replacement after 10-15 years.
  • Are dental implants better than dentures?
Implants provide a permanent, stable solution that prevents bone loss and does not require adhesives, unlike traditional dentures.
  • Am I a candidate for dental implants?
Candidates should have good overall health, adequate jawbone density, and healthy gums. Our team will evaluate your condition to determine the best treatment plan.
  • Is the procedure painful?
Local anesthesia is used during surgery, minimizing discomfort. Some soreness may occur post-surgery, but it can be managed with prescribed or over-the-counter pain medication.
